Very nice letter and envelope from Hershel L. Dixon. This letter is dated July 1943. The letter has the logo of Desert training center California, this is not common! For further information and the condition of the letter, see photos.

Herhel was a veteran of the USAAF 8th AF 858th Chemical Co. Air Operations, here some info about him:
Hershel L. Dixon, 86 of Clearfield, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on June 4, 1921 in Wallaceton, PA the son of Olin H. and Pearl (Bumbarger) Dixon.

Mr. Dixon retired from DuBois Unilec as a line supervisor after thirty two years of service.

He was a member of Chirst United Methodist Church in Clearfield, the Clearfield Fire Company First Ward, Clearfield Lodge #314 of Free and Accepted Masons and the United Commercial Travelers.

Mr. Dixon was a United States Army Airforce Veteran having served with the 8th Division during World War II.

He is survived by sisters in law: Betty Nestar of Lamar, Edna Dixon of Clearfield; a brother and sister in-law Michael and Shirley Slother of Philipsburg; several nieces and nephews.
