Large legacy of a German family (Both sons killed!)
A very large and unique legacy from a German family! This legacy consists mainly of letters, but also includes newspaper clippings, booklets, etc. It concerns a mother, a father, and their two sons. The father served in the Wehrmacht and likely returned alive. Both sons were killed in action during the war.
There are so many letters, and therefore little research has been done, and the letters haven't been counted. Therefore, they are very interesting for further research!
One son was a lieutenant, and the other served first in the RAD and then in the Wehrmacht. There are also letters sent to a son (presumably the leutenant) in 1945. Almost all of these are stamped "zuruck" and/or "zuruck nach absender." These letters are also almost all unopened.
Also, some of the letters are in small feldpost boxes (with labels on them) and the large box that everything is in also belongs to the family!
