Helferin? Luftwaffe jacket
Original German Luftwaffe jacket! The jacket was likely used by the "LW Helferinnen". The jacket has a manufacturer's marking, size, and year of manufacture in the inside pocket. The eagle is an early-war "drop-tail" variant, added later with original thread (does not fluoresce under UV light), and the stitching is not visible on the inside lining. The jacket is made of heavy fabric like a greatcoat, has a zigzag pattern in the collar, and has buttons that are unknown to me. The inside of the sleeves has a patterned fabric that fluoresces under UV light (this could also be due to washing). The rest of the jacket, eagle, and stitching do not fluoresce under UV light.
This appears to be a shortened jacket with a later-added early-war eagle and large buttons.
A beautiful original Luftwaffe jacket for a great price!
